UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2010
Canon Powershot G12 Vs. Nikon Coolpix P7000
THE FRATERNAL TWINS: INITIAL COMPARISON
Officially official are the Canon Powershot G12 and Nikon Coolpix P7000. Both are high end top of the line point and shoot for photographers who want manual controls in a smaller form. Give or take a few features these 2 are almost identical.
IMAGE AND SPEC LIST
The G12 looks very similar to the G11 with a few new twist like the HDR feature that shoots 3 bracketed exposures and combines it into one image. Another one is the Hybrid Image stabilizer already available in the HS 300 and it is now able to shoot 720p HD video. Hopefully the G12 will get the S95 f/2.0 at the widest opening and will be under $450.
The link to CNET Asia no long works and just shows the 3 point and shoots that were announced today. Whether this leak is accurate remains to be seen but from the looks of it so far-me thinks this is the real deal and we wouldn’t have to wait long for the official announcement from Canon. Below is the leaked articled from CNET Asia taken from Canon Rumors. CR guy was smart enough to copy and paste!~gracias.
