It was late and suddenly the sky lit up with colors. The crackers snapped and banged for a few minutes. Lucky as the photo gear was set up nearby. A few twist and turns on the ball head got me these shots. Of course I had to drag the cam and tripod out on the balcony.
Captured with Canon EOS 7D, tripod, remote shutter release and processed with Lightroom 3.
2nd round to the cupcake saga and the contact info promised from the recent Sweet Desires post. These beauties are not only mouth watering but they are a feast for the eyes (ahem, photographed by moi on Canon EOS 7D with flash, camera left).
Without an assistant present I had them all to myself. Delicately posed in the middle of the night to sultry music playing in the background and still I couldn’t take a bite. If you do want some all to yourself, order away there’s nothing like custom made cupcakes to your liking. (Yes, the numbers and email addy works)
It’s been quite a tiring week. I’ve just finished uploading and backing up thousands of photos from various events on the external hard drive and DVDs.
Now, sorting through and post processing the photos will commence. But for now I will leave you with this…
MINI SUGARY DELIGHT
Do I like the deep fried dough, sugary glazed, vein clotting, killer snacks known as doughnuts? Hell, yeah. Especially with black as dirt coffee. And yes, without sugar. The thick gleaming glaze from the doughnut takes care of that. But recently, ingesting these snacks aren’t necessarily a healthy thing to do.
The other day, my wife and I were at the mall. Turned the corner to see an ad staring back at me for mini doughnuts. Might not be a good idea to eat more sugar coated goodness but what the heck, those are minis.
Bought a box of 20’s, brought it home, shot a bucket load of photographs and gave away two-thirds of the box. There are still four doughnuts left in the fridge. Want some sugary delight disguised as a doughnut?
“We opened our doors on July 13, 1937. Vernon Rudolph bought a secret yeast-raised doughnut recipe from a French chef from New Orleans, rented a building in what is no called historic Old Salem in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and began selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts on July 13, 1937 to local grocery stores. People soon began stopping by to ask if they could buy hot doughnuts, so he cut a hole in the wall and started selling Hot Original Glazed doughnuts directly to customers.” – Krispykreme.com
When I lived on street level, as opposed to high rise condominium, I could not fully appreciate the beauty of a sunset.
Now that I’ve been living in a high rise for a few years the view of a sun setting is amazing. Even if the sun sets on the same spot on the horizon everyday the ambiance, clouds and colors are always unique to each day. The outcome of the days view mainly depends on weather conditions.
One disadvantage of living in a condo building is not having a grass lawn or backyard for the kids. Then again, how would one really define back yard?
Below are some views from my called back porch…
