YOCARD EVENT: VISUALS WITH VISION 2
On September 9, 2010, YOCard exhibited over 300+ artists’ visuals at the Shangri La Mall in Pasig. Opening night of Visuals Wth Vision 2 was held at the level 3 exhibit area in front of Figaro Cafe to a great crowd.
One of the highlights was the showing of a video clip of CNN’s 2009 Hero of the Year awardee and one of the competition judges with encouraging words of wisdom. Filipino teacher Efren Penaflorida is known for his ‘Kariton Klassrum’ or ‘cart classroom’ where very poor children are taught basic literacy skills and values formation.
Many of the artists came to view their piece finally printed on postcards along with their families. Snacks and coffee was served throughout the night and it culminated with the announcement of the 3 winners. The 1st prize was a hoopla of LOMO cams and gear. Nice!

Three themes for this year:
- Outlooke Pointe Foundation: Artists supporting artists supporting the nation: a country built by artists is one built on truth and beauty. Liyab Pilipinas!
- One Tama: Pinoy Pride in Action:
One Tama is a campaign that asks a very simple question: If all of us say we want a better country anyway, why don’t we try it out for one day?
- Ipagyabang na Ikaw ay Pilipino!
Yabang Pinoy is a Filipino pride movement founded in 2005 by a group of Filipinos who realized that one of the gravest problems the Philippines is facing is the lack of national pride among the Filipino people. Yabang Pinoy believes that for real progress to begin in the Philippines, the solution is in national pride.

Advocacy for literacy for children, saving the seas and adoption of homeless animals were YOCard’s most recent event held at the Greenbelt 3 in Makati. “This project is an effort to introduce the concept of social design in the country (Philippines). Good karma to YOCard for tackling such an event and being successful. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more postcard designs from the VWV event.
